Cynthia St.Clair grew up in St.Petersburg and cut her teeth studying at Dance Theatre of Florida and Academy of Ballet Arts. After graduating from Pinellas County Center for the Arts’ dance program at Gibbs High School in 2000, she headed north to Philadelphia where she earned her BFA in Modern Dance and Choreography from Temple University. Cynthia then promptly moved to Brooklyn and spent nearly a decade working as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and administrator of dance throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City. She danced for a number of independent choreographers there, including Darla Stanley, Sasha Welsh, and Rebecca Lloyd-Jones, and performed her own solo work throughout the region. In 2013, Cynthia decided to make a shift toward using dance in a more therapeutic capacity; three years later she graduated with her MA in Somatic Counseling Psychology and Dance/Movement Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. She now calls Denver home, and is in private practice there as a somatic psychotherapist, integrating the body into mental/emotional healing. Cynthia is honored and thrilled to be back in her hometown, performing at the Palladium for the first time in nearly 20 years. Thank you, St.Pete!
